Black Devil Spike Snails (Faunus ater) are large eating snails with dark colored shells, growing up to 3 inches when fully grown. Also known as Lava Snails, their long, glossy shells taper into sharp, spike-like points and range from shades of chocolate brown to deep blacks. Their bodies are often gray/black or chestnut brown.
