To maximize plant growth, the pH of your aquaponic fish tank water should be 6.8 – 7.0. pH can reach unacceptably high levels when high pH water is added, pH unstable media, such as rock wool and granite gravel products, are used, or an anaerobic zone develops in your grow bed.
