Unfortunately, there are no governmental safety regulations for dog toys in the USA. For pet food, we have AAFCO (Association of American Feed Control Officials) to help regulate and set guidelines, but it gets fuzzier when looking at non-food items. The FDA doesn’t regulate dog toys, and the Consumer Product Safety Commission only regulates pet toys that can be proven to put consumers (people, not dogs) at risk.
